Evolution You Can't Deny

HOLY COW, you guys.  I found some little treasures this week.

Back story - Last weekend my in-laws were visiting and one thing I always do with my Mother-in-Law, Mindy, is go to our local St. Vincent's thrift store.  This time we discovered a few really great furniture pieces - one of which is my new desk!!!  EEEK!  So excited to finally have a real grown-up desk to work on.  It is an old teacher's desk with tons of desktop space and plenty of drawers.  My home office dreams are starting to come true! :)

So after picking up my new desk, I had to clean out my little old one and I found the most amazing evidence of my evolution as a small business owner.   I found all of my old business card designs.   Every. single. business card. I have ever "designed" right there in the back of a drawer.  I had no idea I still had them all.  They are eye-opening, in a great way!

Now.... you have to understand that these cards date back to like 2006-2007ish.... and I was at the very beginning of my business.  My very first "cards" were made in my amateur Corel Paint program and I printed them at home on Kodak photo paper! HA!!   Definitely not impressive, but they are such undeniable evidence of my growth that I LOVE them.  :)

That really awkward looking card with the fake photo-tabs in the corners and the boring brown and tan colors is my very first business card.  You would have hired me after seeing that card, right?  ;)    The best part about that โ€ฆ

We all have to start somewhere.... and usually it isn't the most glamorous of places.  Our beginnings are rarely brag-worthy, but they are important.  Very important.

This is my current business card and I feel so proud to give it out. It is simple, clean, bright, and airy to reflect my brand.

If you are a creative entrepreneur just getting started and it feels like you are stuck in the beginning - keep pushing!  Amazing things are yet to come!  Then one day you are going to find your very first creations and think.... "Oh my god, I made this? "

I feel like I am just getting started myself sometimes... but that first business card reminds me that I have come such a long way.  I am so delighted I found these and I just had to share them with you in hopes that it will inspire at least one person to keep pushing forward.

Keep pushing.  Keep creating.  Keep a record of it all.

(Then send me pictures of your progress!)
